Hm. There's a sizable hole in the fluval spec lid so dust could be a factor. I think I'm going to hook up the bubbler and try a different pellet/live food. Thanks for the responses.

Generally any livestock you pick up at your lfs was shipped to them. For me I think it's less stressful for the fish/shrimp to be shipped directly to me from a reputable source rather than shipped...

The conflict may be because it's a glass tank with plastic trim around the bottom of the tank and a plastic lid.
