I'm considering this same combination

I want enough light to keep the plants healthy with some growth. But not looking to replant the world :) Would love to hear what others have to say

HO lights directly over glass

Hi Guys,

I'm looking at setting up a 75 gallon tank with a glass cover and 2x55w t5HO fixture sitting right on top.

Is this ok? Every tank I've seen with T5 HO's is suspended over an open...

I'm pretty new here but from a fish stand point you don't really need 100% RO water. You might even be able to go straight tap water. Most species will be happy around 7 ph
