I have a group of 10 sparkling gouramis in my 33L, and they are some of my favorite fish. My water comes out of the tap at 8.3 pH, and it stays there regardless of how much driftwood or whatnot I...

The OP has a much lower KH than I do, so he might have better luck than I did, but NOTHING is effective at lowering my PH. I've even set up tanks that were 1 part tap to 9 parts neutral RO, and...

Lol! I've kept bolivians, gold rams, and electric blue rams, and all were bright and colorful and lived normal life spans. They spawned regularly and the babies made it to hatching a couple times,...

I keep/raise several strains of neos in water that has a ph of 8.3, kh of 18, and gh of 5.

For the original poster, as someone else mentioned, stability is far more important to most fish than the...

I have my packages marked "hold for pickup". Then I call the PO as soon as tracking shows it arrived (if the PO hasn't called me already - which they usually do). This ends up letting me pick the...

I've kept a lot of rams and I've never had any aggression issues with them other than occasionally with each other (kept with neons, lemon tetras, celebes rainbows, plecos, cories, angels, etc.). My...

I don't have a sulawesi tank, but I do run 8.3 ph on multiple planted tanks, and have only encountered a handful of plants that can't handle it.

One female will get endlessly harassed by the males. IME, they're just as bad as male guppies. Either go all males, or you'll want two females for every male.

I would say cardinals are too big (or at least will get there). Neons maybe, but you'd be better off going with a true nano fish.

I just made a decent sized order online (aquabid) - emerald...

I don't use RO for my shrimp. My tap runs 8.2, kh of 19, and they do fine in it. I DO use RO (actually, usually buy distilled or something along those lines) to top off after water has evaporated. ...

I do top offs only on one of my shrimp tanks just because it's a pain to vacuum and it's open top so evaporates quickly. The important piece is top of with RO or otherwise purified water. ...

Pleco of any kind is too big for that tank. I wouldn't put a bristlenose in anything smaller than a 20-30. Also, some plecos will snack on shrimplets (or even adults), other types/individuals won't.

I wouldn't put them in something with that small of a footprint. They are smaller than the large rainbows, but they aren't small fish and they are very very active. I've got a 46 bow (3' long) and...
