under high light it tends to look red and even brown even though its completely healthy

i have em packed in there tight...

Id like to agree about the thought of dirt with a cap. It might help to be able to set it, and forget it. That way heavy root feeders like crypts and swords will have a constant supply of nutrients....

i had mine shipped cross country and yes, they did arrive in some cold water but were perfectly healthy

just slowly acclimate...
