I would say the light is comporable if not better than my twin PCF 65 watt 10K setup.

Now its time to install my twin VHO bulbs.

I run two 20 watt T12 homedepot lights 18 hours a day and then two 65 watt CF for eight hours.

Lets you enjoy your tank all day and night and gives you more control over algae.

I also have a VHO ballast rated at 1500 ma. I was thinking of buying some sho or vho bulbs and running them at different intervals.

Any suggestions? I like 10k.

I am tired of replacing my CFs every year.

If this fixture does a decent job I get my $ back compared to CFs in 2 years.

I have never used topsoil but have read that some may actually kill your fish.

There is a list of topsoils out there somewhere.
