I've got mine with shrimp... They seem to be okay. However they do try and attack baby fish swimming at the top of the water.

You can try getting yourself a Pea Puffer. They're great at hunting down snails. Grows to about 1.5 inch max and are amazing to watch.

its diatoms. make a siphon using an air line and remove as much of as possible and do this at least twice a week along with 50% water changes. this algae is very normal and will die off...

I thought it might that plant as well but the leaves don't get very large and round like the repens. At most the leaves get about an inch long and quarter inch wide.

Looks very similar to BBA but yours is green. If its anything like bba its a very difficult algae to get rid off. Try spot treatment of hydrogen peroxide in a syringe... usually not more than 3-4ml...

It's probably bubbles from your plants trapped under a protein film at the top of the water surface. Do you notice a slight white film at the surface?

This particular tank is about 3 months old? Cycled it using old filter fluid from another canister filter. Right now there's a lot of startup new tank algae and diatoms.

I don't have a copper...
