Add amano shrimps here and plant fast growing plants, particularly hornwort. Keep the lighting the same and watch hair algae disappear. Feed your beta only as much as he eats.

Thanks for replies. I have Physa sp. and rams, which I did not ask for, but got with plants. I though Nerite is good for hair algae control. It seems they are not difficult to breed as needed.

Where people buy Nerite snails?

I checked in our local stores, Petsmart and Nature Emporium. They never heard of them. I think they are easier to keep and even breed then any shrimp. Just have a salt water container for a while...

I do not change water in my tanks. However, sometimes I syphon out a little of dirt. This takes about a gallon or so. This is how much water I replace one or two times per month.
