That's the plant. I'm running about 1 bubble per 2 seconds CO2. The light has been the key to growth, plants went nuts when I added it, previously had a 5.5k 11w PC bulb.

I ended up doing the same and putting the heater in the pump section. It pumps enough water that I didn't have issues with temperature dipping, so I didn't need to modify anything. Don't remember...

Space is a little too limited for hardscape as this is a tall rather than wide 2g. Maybe a stick or something later, but for now I just want to grow the plants in.
