With out fail 5 or so of the cardinals end up looking like your Cory or worse.

Hmmmm, I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
But I personally do not test FE or PO4 as the kits are not often accurate enough to matter.
I do test for NO3 and then manage my other ferts...

Should work out fine check out Lowe's they have some 6500 k bulbs (cfl) spot lamps and regular 6500 k cfl bulbs you will like a lot.
I used them to light areas of the 90 gallon in my Sig.

......400 watt metal halide on my 90 gal vs the 250 watt and CFL's i was using before.
All I can say is holly shight what a difference.
I'll post pics soon of the tank and fixture.
