growing plants in bowls....

hello,i have a question..can i grow a plant in a bowl?i have a couple bettas and i use silica sand in them and i think a plant would look so nice in there.

i just bought a aqua glo 18,000k 40 watts.i know i need more watts but i'm gonna try this for my java fern's for now.won't the light bulb get real hot with 110 wattts?my top is the plastic one not...

the light i bought is only 2,800k and i need 5,000-10,000 right?so i will have to go back to the store.it says it's for plants.the 110 watts i dont know how i'm gonna do everything there is 40...

i bought a marine glo light bulb-strip it says 105 lux 40w.i know nothing about lighting.i have a eclipse natural daylight bulb-strip f40t10 also.now my ?is can i use the marine one for freshwater...

from the lake -beach got the sand but it is so fine,like a powder.i'm a nerd because i filled up 2 buckets and when i got home and looked at it in the light i realized i didn't like it.well guess...

i have silica sand(sand blasting sand,white stuff)in my 55 gallon tank,and i'm looking for a plant that will grow in it.the lighting would be just a regular light that comes with a top,and some sun...

need java fern help...

i'm new to plant for tanks,and couldn't resist a peice of drift wood with a java fern rubber band to it(from petco).most of the java's had black patches on them but i had found one that didnt.well...

maybe some one has pictures of how they got theres hooked up.i'm talking about the rubber tube that brings water in to the tank.you have the rubber hose then you have plastic elbow peice then tubing...

i have a eheim pump,it was given to me with out instructions.i 've been using it for about 4 months,and like it ,so quite.the only thing i dont like is the tubing and elbow conectors.you connect them...
