Too permanent, I change my mind too much for that. I like to be able to change everything in and on the tank on a whim if I want to, including backgrounds.

If the heater is right next to the intake, shouldn't be a problem. The water will be warmed as it's drawn into the filter and then distributed by the return.

That was the plan. The pumpkinseeds chased them around for about 5 minutes when I dumped them in. Since then, nothing, they even feed together.
