I have a 2215 on my 60P with a Hydor in-line heater and an atomic diffuser. Input/output with lily pipes. It's the perfect amount of flow.

Interesting. I've never seen HM used as a carpet before, at least in a flat tank. It might be too tall and branchy.

And that is mold. You need more holes in the saran wrap.

It depends what shrimps you're planning to keep. If it's one of the Cardinias, I highly recommend ADA Amazonia. There are a couple of online retailers based in Ontario with reasonable shipping rates.

Unfortunately, the short answer is no. HC needs moderate-high light, CO2, and ferts. Without all three you'll have scraggly looking plants with pale, half-melted leaves.
