You could also make your own sponge filter to the exact size you want. They're easy to make and very cheap, especially if you're planning on breeding lots of fish and need several fry/grow-out tanks....

I wouldn't bother draining the tank and removing the frogs. Just get a new, clean razor blade from lowe's or wherever for the razor scrapers and go to town. The silicon shouldn't come up in pieces...

Yeah the lemon tetras will destroy your shrimp, but I personally wouldn't hesitate to put 20 lemon tetras in a 20 gallon as long as it is adequately filtered and planted.

I know that the 13 watt light that comes with the Ebi is designed to fit rimless tanks, but could the light fit a standard 5.5 gallon aquarium? Maybe if the inner lip of the plastic rim was sanded...
