About how many shrimp can a 5.5G tank safely handle? I am breeding some right now in the same tank but only have about 30 currently. I will be taking them into my LFS as credit.

I have yet to see any spawn. I just added a group of 4 a few days ago so maybe the added numbers will help. I really have to look up some info on breeding the little guys.

I currently have 7 pygmies and 1 habrosus cory with my RCS and have no issues. Actually the cories and baby shrimp eat from the same sinking disks all at once.

What type of HD TV do you have ie. DLP, Plasma, LCD?
For any tv over 42" go with DLP (all about the mirrors) Plasma and LCD's are way too expensive for this large of a screen.
I have a 56" samsung...

Well, now that I think about it the planting deeper idea is not the reason either.

Do crypt roots run more horizontal than vertical below the gravel line? Maybe to shallow of a planting bed?

I would go with a group of at least 3-5. Zebras, Clowns or Yo-Yos would fit the bill just fine. Those seem to be some of the more popular and easily accessisable varieties to keep.
