How many?

I will have a 29 gallon riparium, and it will have 10-20 gallons of water in it.
I though a school of either threadfin rainbows or tiger barbs would look cool, but how many could I fit? I don't want...

Most marginal plants can live fine at that temperature, such as umbrella palm (cyperus sp.) and sweetflag (acorus sp.)
Houseplants could work well too.
