Also, floating to acclimate shrimp isn't helpful. You need to do drip acclimation so they get used to the new water very slowly.

I've just used a sponge over the intake. Also easy to take off and rinse out and they seem to grow lovely food for the shrimp as well. Mine are always covered with grazing shrimp.

True, I've done jars with no filtration that kept shrimp and endlers. But for some reason this tank gets icky without water movement. Not sure why, maybe because it is shallower than my jars?

Agreed, I use Seachem Excel, my moss is taking over the tank. Seriously, it has no issue with that additive, or with anything I've found. Moss is an aquatic weed, good luck killing it.

I assume those ferns aren't buried? They do best tied (or super glued) to wood. Tied to a rock will work...
