Agreed, it's the ammonia. It'll continue for a while unfortunately. Use some old media from the other tank to get the bio up to par. Hopefully it'll help.

20L

Do it. I had one that was overflowing with blyxa. My LFS and friends loved it. I'm currently in the process of "rebuilding," and will probably have 2 20L tanks for growout/Iwagumi tanks.

Glass tops are relatively inexpensive on the smaller tanks. The easiest thing to do (IMO) is to make a rack of some sort. Put a few 10 or 20 tanks side-by-side or end-to-end, and run a single light...

Both are suitable for a 10g tank. I tried a 2232 on my 10g and was disappointed in the amount of flow it provided. It did a great job of filtering the water, but don't expect much oomph out of it....

For those new to rams, the Bolivian ram (Mikrogeopgagus altispinosa) is a much easier to keep than the GBR (M. m ramirezi) and its variants.

My first fish, and will always be one of my favorites.

Picked up 20 Cardinals and a few Otos yesterday morning. So far all is well in the QT tank. It was simply too good a deal, especially when the LFS wants $4+ for a cardinal.

I started out with South American fish that come from more acidic waters. I set up my fist heavily planted tank with Aquasoil and a full CO2 outfit in hopes of really driving my pH down. I tested,...

Well, for the OP why do you want to raise the Kh?

I too have a kH somewhere between 0-1 and have never had an issue.

Keep rocking it and letting it run. The white pad on top does a GREAT job of allowing an air pocket to form underneath it.

I aim for consistiency. I get small outbreaks of BBA when CO2 levels fluctuate. I like to keep my drop checker on the yellower side of green to combat algae and keep my plants healthy. That's...

Again with the light load I'd use the 2217. My 75g is currently being run on 1 XP3. It's noisy so I'll be moving my Eheims over 2213/2217. The tank currently has 6 4-6" Geo Tapajos, a few otos and...

The 2217+2213 combo will be enough.

I run a 2213 on my 10g currently and 2217 on my 40g. Both will be transferred to my 75g soon. I plan to set the 13 up for mech filtration only.

This is correct. I have a 10 gallon with AS, no CO2 and the bulb and hood that came with it. The DHG still grows under a HEAVY cover of floaters (salvinia and wisteria).
