The 2217 takes a 5/8" intake hose and 1/2" output, IIRC.

Clear hose will accumulate algae, black will not. Hydroponics stores often carry black hose cheaper than home depot. At least in my area...

Shrimp only seem to exit when water conditions are unfavorable, in my experience.
