Hmmmm this got me thinking. If I have some anubias with algae growth I wonder if growing it emersed for a while will kill the algae and allow some healthy growth to then put it back in the aquarium....

I only ask because without fish in a cycles tank to produce ammonia to feed that bacteria, it will starve and die off as you are aware but adding food may have not presented enough ammonia to feed...
