Cherries with Malawa shrimp?

I've got a 29 gallon with a good size colony of cherry shrimp, and was thinking about adding malawa shrimp too... I know they don't interbreed, but do they coexist 100% happily?

It is a great article, but I would NOT recommend miracle gro for the substrate. A friend used her advise exactly- it grows plants wonderfully, but it turned our basic water too acidic for the shrimp...

A big mass of hornwort or elodea would work- both are cheap and can be floated. They will suck up nutrients. They would be easy to pull out later if you want.
