Could it be that the DHG was acclimating? I agree that 30 par might've been a bit too low for it. I don't believe the substrate was the issue.

Hopefully that'll fix it. Whenever I do an emersed setup, I keep it partially uncovered just to get the right humidity level. Keeping it completely uncovered would dry it out over time.

You can use some H2O2 to get rid of the mold. Mold means that it's too humid. You need to air it out once in a while.

Love the rock placement. I actually didn't even notice the sand path until it was pointed out. The sand oath would've made more sense in the left side, which seems to be the focal point.

You could prob achieve this with Monte Carlo. I've been able to grow it on rocks with very little substrate. It sort of grows like a vine if you're looking for that overgrown/crawly effect.

Ah, so the secret has been revealed! I like the steel brush idea. A toothbrush's bristles are def not strong enough. The work you put into this definitely shows, so the effort is well worth it.

I wish they made the 24/7 at 12" as well. Not sure why they haven't made it. I went with the Azoo Flexi Mini for my 12" cube. They make a black one too.

However, coverage is mainly near the back...
