I have two 5# tanks and always have one of them sitting around full and ready to change out when the other is empty. Never have had any issues in doing this.

You bought them both, you used them both, they both work fine after receiving the new impeller. Why would you even think about returning one. This is what helps to put our LFS out of business....

Much as I like aquaclear's I'd go with the Eheim 2013 with a spray bar across one end. I've got several 20 longs set up this way and it works great.
