Plants pearling their best just before lights go out?

I'm currently about 1 month in on this semi high tech tank.

It is a 29 gallon tank with about 40 separate stems of rotala rotundifolia, which isn't a very high plant mass for the time being.

Also, this tank doesn't have a crossbar support on top. As in, it never had one, not that it broke or anything.

The glass is 3/8"...
