I think 7.5 hours is way too long for a new tank. Also, how heavily are you planted? If I were you I'd cut back on the photo period until you can figure out what is out of balance,.

Sorry for the late reply! Here is an update. After a complete melt of all the plants, the tank has stabilized and come back with decent growth...especially with the crypts. Not all the vals came back...

No. This is part of the business model. The drivers (at least in Boston) dont expect it. If they go way above and beyond, sure. But you shouldnt feel obliged.
