in a tank this size, water changes should be enough to keep up with both trace and macro elements.

id advise against kalkwasser usage in a tank this small it, it spikes the pH up way to high way...

pH swings from 7.8 - 8.2 through out the day (particularly the transition from night to day) arent too bad. i'd say if it drops to 7.5ish you should start worrying.

light penetration would be the largest issue at 30". PC lighting isnt known to be so great for that purpose. maybe MH lighiting would be a better option but im a newb so cant speak from experience.

who are we arguing against in this thread? it makes total sense to me that PAR is a more "economical" way of measuring light in our tanks vs. PUR....PUR just seems to over complicating something that...
