Thats a lot of soil in there. Since the stones are a little small, maybe consider perching them up more and let the substrate fall away from it? Or... you need some bigger stones to anchor it.

Never actually watched to be honest. With Eco complete will be hard to see for sure. I always use a lighter capping material, but again, never watched it really. It just goes away. LOL.
