The only issue I could see with rainwater would be suspended solids such as car exhaust and other such things. I think if you pass it through some carbon a few times it should be fine.

So the tanks up and running. Lights definitely to bright. I have t8 fixture somewhere. It's not nearly as bright as the planted+. I'm going to have to switch them out.
