Thanks for the clarification. I learned something new. I'll probably still stick with osmocote+ just because of the price difference. Do you know if the granules break down over time? Or do people...

Good find. Like an hour and a half away from me. Even if I have to ship they'll pretty much be there next day no matter what shipping service is used.

I have a 40B setup with a PFS substrate. I had been using Osmocote+ bought from a user on the forum, but after tearing the tank down I'm finding the yellow granules that I had buried in the sand...

Thank you. It's especially tough as these plants and fish seemed to be thriving. Some algae issues, but even those were under control.

So I recently moved into a new place about 20 min. away from my old one and after having my fish survive in a bucket all day, I woke up this morning to find about 20 odd bodies floating/sinking. A...

A tiger barb tank is something I never thought of. Great little fish, abundant, and cheap. They also have tons of personality in groups. Probably under rated because of their habit of nipping.

I actually do the opposite. I have two in a 6 gallon edge that are fed zucchini/cucumber about twice a week. I don't see them actively grazing on algae and I don't want to risk them starving.

What high CEC/nutrient rich substrate with PFS?

I have a 40B with PFS and, with the addition of some root tabs, I've been having great luck growing plants in this inert/no CEC substrate to include swords that are taking over my tank and L. Repens...

I cannot stress this enough. I've kept Cory's in one, two's and three's in the past. They always died or looked exceedingly nervous. Always dashing up to the top and back down, hiding when at all...

Flow rates on all filters will decline over time as the filter pads, tubing, and other moving parts get clogged with grime.

What store did you pick them up at?

Nice looking rams though. I keep three in tap and they're doing fine. Still researching ways to lower it myself, but no easy ways yet.

Once the plants are in your tank your f-ed. But yeah, look up ways to dip your plants. I've used potassium permanganate and a brief bleach bath. Both seem to have worked out alright. Be warned though...
