maybe it depends on the water supply? Some water treatment may use "de-co2-reactor" to prevent corrosion, some may add some base to raise pH

say you got a 40.00ppm NO3 solution
the atomic mass of NO3 is 1(14.00)+3(15.99) = 61.97g/mol
the atomic mass of N is 14.00g/mol

thus 40.00 ppm...

snail and shrimp need Ca for their shells, GH is affected by Ca and Mg (GH booster contains Calcium Sulfate & Magnesium Sulfate)
