with this tank i am focusing on my geo red heads and thus its not densely planted at all, lots of open sand for them to sift. as substrate i am just using pool filter sand and the only other plants...

thanks, i've thought about what i could put in there but i think i'll hold off for now. i actually had jungle val in with them before and they were rooted well and actually werent bothered too much....

Still have an issue with the inflow holes getting blocked I guess the water, levels are different. It doesn't seem to be major but I'll have to keep an eye on it....

I also cut some slits in the top of the background which seems to be keeping everything even. Here's a pic of the slits, they are pretty thin. Hopefully they don't clog too easily...

Should be a fun tank. I like the idea of columns kind of like a city, it would be cool to see the fish swimming around them especially if you did it on a bigger scale like this

i would prob go with wisteria it grows more bushy and i think it would keep the feel you have going on right now, would look pretty good or you could go with another hygro species.
