LFS--Pacific Reef--Fountain Valley
Lots of marine fish, show tanks with extra high display tanks for easy viewing corals
Decent tropical fish selection and quality was good
Roomy (space seems to be a common issue among LFS's)

**No planted aquariums yet
Only 2 or 3 small aisles of dry goods
Only popular items stocked, although they had CO2 systems/parts for sale.
Of course higher prices

**The Fountain Valley store is planning on a planted (55G?) show tank and 3 smaller tanks for plant sales.

Very friendly service from a young couple, he's a marine biology major. When visiting each store I easily started conversations with the brother (Anaheim) and brother-in-law (FV). I felt the most comfortable in these stores compared to others in the area. It's family owned, two stores - one on Brookhurst in Fountain Valley and the other on Warner in Anaheim.

Any inverts (cherry shrimp)?

Looks like they have a site:

Nope, no inverts. Only for SW.

They have 2 stores--I'm guessing one has planted tanks and the other is planning to.

The one in Anaheim had some planted tanks on display but I don't know what happened.

Here's my 2 cents:
I've been to both P.R.s. I'm not really happy about what has happened to the one on Lincoln (Anaheim?). They used to be about twice the size, but cut back (because of rent increase?). When they cut back, the two huge planted tanks with discus that they had were removed. They also used to have a large in-store koi pond, which they removed. Their plants (when they had some) never seemed to be in good condition. They have been saying for several months that they would be installing a big, new plant area, but I've yet to see it. Don't know if it will ever happen. Their prices are on the high side, even compared to Tong's.
But some good points, one of the young men there (don't remember his name) was very helpful and offered some good advice. They also will sometimes bargain with you if you ask, and if you buy multiple big ticket items. I got a really good price on a 100g stand.

The P.R. on Brookhurst in F.V. is mostly s.w., and has an excellent anemone display. No plants, as of yet, but say they will be adding...eventually.
