Water sprite

I just purchased some and this has roots. I thought it was a stem plant?

Its a stem plant and it has roots. Most stem plants have roots no ? Just plant it down. Or float it. Either way it can survive. BTW if you mean floating plant, many of them have roots too (duckweed, salvania etc)

water sprite is naturally a floating plant but can be planted in the substrate. it will put off roots and then can be broken or cut at that point and floated or planted again
