Ok for my Temporary Tank I need some drift wood for some hungry plecs, Luckily I GOT WOOD! (hehe schoolboy humor) looking thru my shed I found these two piecies which were originally one piece which was really bulky!

both ends of this wood are rough sawn (and not straight oops!)

and I really wanted a more natural effect no cut marks more dimension!

So out comes drill, dremel, pliers and chisel, time to rough it up!!

Now these Lengths are 20" ish the wont fit in the 15 inch bowfront which means more wonky sawing!

Yup Wonky!!

It looks like the starship Enterprise made out of driftwood???

really I think it will be great underwater with plants and whatnot. dry and sitting on a chair doesn't do it justice I'm sure

OMG your right o.O As a Closet trekkie it must have been subconsciously done!!!
I actually had in mind the montipora coral, but never mind, It will look better in the tank..lol :\ its gonna have moss tied to it the top too...

Very nice!! I never would have thought about drilling and using the little dowel rod things to connect them.

I thought it was a moose!

It looks pretty cool. Functionally, I would worry about the top piece blocking light to anything under it though. It seems like it could create a nifty multi level planting effect though. Planting attached pieces on the top surface and mosses and other very low light plants underneath may look interesting.

Putting anubias under the "wings" in the shade might look good, and the shade would help protect the anubias leaves from BBA.

one thing thou! due to the curvature of the top piece im not sure im going to be able to tie moss to it... any ideas???:icon_redf

People use that gel type "magic" glue that grabs instantly, to glue moss to wood. I haven't tried it, but I also haven't seen where anyone had trouble from doing that.
