I have a regular solenoid (not pictured).

I'm soooooo close now. Time to bring this system online. Can someone advise to the fittings I need to complete the install?

You need to find a fitting to connect to that manifold, I'm guessing it's either 1/8 or 1/4 hex nipple.

The tricky part is the weird angle that victor has as the out put. You remove that needle valve you have, find a fitting that levels the manifold and you're all set.

Where the inlet for that manifold? If it's at the bottom, you need a elbow. There is various ways to connect that, just need to find one that levels that thing out. That is, if you care that it's level.

You may also want to take a look at my Primer to Pressurized CO2 (linked in my signature below).

You will want to take the on/off valve off the regulator.

You will want to connect your solenoid to your regulator using a nipple (depending on size of the opening on the solenoid, you may need a reducing hex bushing).

I'm not quite sure how that manifold works (where is the entry? From the bottom?), but you may need some 90 degree elbows to keep the bubble counters perpendicular to the ground.

In general, most fittings we use are 1/4" or 1/8" NPT.

And the solenoid..... I'm guessing the two fittings that came with the solenoid are for the gas lines to the tank? Solenoid has an A and a B side.

1/8 male/female npt elbow, 90 degree
1/8 male/female npt elbow, 45 degree
1/8 npt hex nipple, 2"
(your solenoid)
1/8 male npt elbow, 90 degree.
(the 6 port manifold)


it takes time to arrange the position of the fittings, but the post body position of your setup will be something like this, the bottom extend "arm" will be horizontal, and you can arrange the fittings to position the 6 ports manifold front, center or back.

Thanks for the info. I started looking and then wondering about the 1/8 size. Just seemed small to me.

The fittings from the regulator are 1/8 in size correct?

Here is a description on the manifold from another site (not sure if I could link to the product page so I just copied the description text). The mention of the 1/4" NPT is what thew me off.

Description: This manifold allows you to dispense CO2 to six different tanks with just one CO2 bottle and one CO2 regulator. It can be used in-line, or threaded (1/4" NPT) directly on to the CO2 regulator. A precision needle valve is attached to each outlet for precise control.

It sounds like it may use a 1/4" fitting.

You can just purchase a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter fitting just in case a 1/8" fitting is too small. It will usually only be a few dollars anyway, and it would save the hassle of making another trip to the hardware store/paying for shipping online again.

After reading through this, it mentions for the outlet connection (CO2), the part # is (0950-0017). Now I don't know what that part is for, but the spec on it is 1/4" as well.

Am I now to fathom a guess that all pieces and parts mentioned about should be 1/4"?

I do thank you all greatly for the assist and dealing with my 50 million questions. :) Just wanna make sure I get the right stuffs here.

You can keep all parts 1/4" if you want.

If there are some parts that come in 1/8" (such as a needle valve), you can get a 1/4" to 1/8" reducer.

1/8" NPT parts are cheaper, and less bulky, but are still strong enough to do the job, which is generally why we use them. 1/8" NPT is actually about .4" diameter, while 1/4 is .54", in case picturing the sizes was throwing you off.

The solenoids we use usually have 1/8 or smaller ports, while the needle valves may have 1/4 or smaller ports, and we may use an adapter for both, either, or neither.

By the way, one other solution for the odd angle (possibly the most common pet peeve about the VTS series) is to go straight out of the port for a couple inches, then use a 90 deg elbow forward, and then another 90 elbow up. The first elbow will allow you to level everything to cardinal directions.
