What should I change to my aquascape?

Hi guys, I switched out my old petsmart pebbles with Eco Complete black substrate. I also redid my scape. Is there anything you would adjust, change, or remove? Thanks!

Yes, I have a lot more rocks and plants. Thanks!

Nice driftwood. Are you planning on any cory cats? You may want to put a finer substrate over the Eco-Complete if you do. It wore the barbells off mine in a months time.

Thanks, I do plan on getting Cory Sterbai, but what would be a finer substrate? I heard some people not topping Eco Complete and their barbels were fine, but I've heard some people with the entire barbel worn out.

Depending on what type of plants you're planting the eco doesn't hold thin roots well. A cap of fine substrate or sand will help :)

I think it looks good. Nice piece of wood.

I think it looks good. I'd like to see it with a few more rocks and maybe a little more substrate at the back though. Once your plants grow I doubt you will se there are rocks in the tank.

Should I move the rocks more higher than planned?

There are some nice fine sands that are dark if you want to retain the dark substrate look. I like the contrast between the dark and the plant and fish colors. I've also found in my personal opinion and experience the fish tend to have more vivid, relaxed colors when the substrate is darker than just white. Light substrates seem to really glare under higher intensity lighting also. Looking good though. Can't wait to see the progress.

Very nice wood. How many gallons?

I'd work on some rock work for different parts of the tank.

Thanks, ill be posting an update soon, I'm glad I did the switch, the Eco complete is way better than plain gravel.
