Aquatic Magic on Ebay?

Any Hawaii residents bought any live plants from aquatic magic from ebay?
Here's a link to their website : http://www.aqmagic.com/index.php
Their stuff looks promising...

Bought moss from them few years ago and got confiscated by USDA.
I stop buying from them eversince.

There was a good discussion about aquaticmagic in Southern CA aquatic plant enthusiast or SCAPE. Some members said USDA even showed up in there work and ask about his purchased with aquaticmagic.

I would suggest you stay away buying plants from a foreign seller to avoid USDA radar.

Welp, looks like "cheap" moss is out of the question :icon_cry:

ive had several orders from there come in poor condition. There's no deal to be had if your plants arrive crushed or near dry after 3-6 weeks in transit. To their credit, they carry a vast variety of species whice likely are farmed or locally collected but shipping isnt ideal for those outside their region. I also would avoid them for plants

Bought from them many times. Bought java moss from them came in great condition. Also bought some live fishes survived transit. But mainly I buy equipment from them diffusers, drop checkers, bible counters, and other equip from them.

My opinion stay away from plant and other live stuff chances of it getting here safe and healthy is slim. I just had luck on my side.

Despite all the horror stories I have read about these guys, I have ordered boxes of mosses, plants, and bulbs from them on multiple instances over several years with no incident.

Even after getting held up 2 weeks in customs their plants make it to me alive. My only instance (out of 10+) of plant melting is when I bought mini pellia, which they promptly refunded.

No issues at all with customs, they have even opened every package and taped it with "inspected by customs" before sending it to me. Oh, and every single order has been over $30, so it's not a small box.

Aquatic Magic on Ebay?

I ordered some moss balls from them and they arrived alive and healthy. Customs even held it up because there was a warning slip inside the package.

I've ordered from them twice.. first was a moss order that took 5 weeks to arrive and was all DOA... they refunded me in full because of the delay. The second, most recently, was an order for Lily Pipes early in Feb that I am still waiting on - they have resent the package but I will be filing with paypal before I run out of time to file a claim (I currently have an open dispute becuase it shouldn't take more than a month to receive a package).

I bought java moss and moss balls from them a month ago, arrived in about two weeks, same speed as other equipment stuff. They came inside a big envelop, mostly dry, just a big moist on the plant. Both are doing OK now.

The same warning I got but the moss was confiscated.

Not worth trying again and get into trouble.

I've used them twice, they have great customer service if something goes wrong (instant refund, no questions asked). Also if you buy on eBay you can get shipping for free on certain items. As a caveat, do your research on what you are buying because some stuff is deceiving. Things like the star moss and such that seem awesome but only live for a few weeks and are SUPER tiny. Can you tell I'm speaking from experience?!!? But overall I've had no problems with them.
