Has anyone crossed Cystal White Shrimp with TBs?

As subject, just wondering what F1 looks like?

Just so there's no confusion, I'm talking about Crystal White Shrimp like this.

Someone here did, and IIRC the result was something akin to mischlings.

I was able to actually create CWB on my own through a breeding program, and it would surprise everyone here to know what I did to make it!

Thank you, Sir. Do you know the colour pattern in F1 or that would give out the secret?:P

mordalphus 03-04-2013 04:13 AM

I don't know the color pattern, I assume just normal crs/cbs color.

The cwb was indeed an F3 selection from tt x cbs.

Very interesting. Very kind of you sharing the info.

did you get any females and did they have the turquoise saddle/eggs that the CWB seem to have?

Maybe that will be discovered in my next picture. ;)

Cool shrimp, but I don't think you can really call that shrimp CWB. That shrimp seems to have the white splattered everywhere while CWB only has white around the bandings, similar to BKK.

Maybe if you have more than one, you can breed them to see if they breed true.

Op - I've crossed CWB with TB and results are mischlings. In the early development stages, some of the baby shrimp looked very much like a blue jellies. My plan is to cross those mischlings back to CWB and TB to see what the results will be. If what I've been told is true, you will get hulks and blue jellies from one of those crosses with the CWB x TB F1 hybrid.

That pic was way over exposed, that shrimp only has two or three white white half circles on the back. Just like two bar BKK as you described it. I got four 6 months ago but only have two left, lucky thing is they are a pair and the female is berried for 3 weeks now. The idea of a hulk is why I posted this question. Do you have a pic of the blue jelly like F1 you would share?

speedie408 03-04-2013 05:49 PM

^^ I'm referring to Liam's pic, sorry for not being clear Randy.

I have pics in my picture thread in my sig. Too busy at work to look through them atm but I'll filter through them later for you.

Thanks speedie, yeah it might be totally unrelated. The picture shows the sparkling as white, but there is actually no white at all on the shrimp. It also has turquoise eggs, so unless there's some really strange coincidence, I'd say it's pretty close.

It's definitely not from Germany like regular CWB, but appears to have the major qualities of them.
