Plant ID

What is this plant? It came along with my HC.

Plant in the center of the pictures:

You mean the grassy plant?

If so, it's dwarf hairgrass

Knicolas 03-03-2013 01:26 AM

Sorry. I'm talking about the tiny plant in the center of the pictures. Not the DHG or HC. You can see the leaves are larger than the HC.

Fish Ed 03-03-2013 02:45 AM

Oh I see.

Hmmm...it's hard to tell from above, I'm guessing it's glossostigma

stealthypotatoes 03-03-2013 07:38 PM

it should be dwarf baby tears

Knicolas 03-03-2013 08:31 PM

The leaves are more sharp than the HC. It's probably hard to tell right now. I'll take another picture in a couple weeks.

stealthypotatoes 03-08-2013 12:29 AM

Glosso maybe?

ThatGuyWithTheFish 03-08-2013 12:38 AM

It could be Elatine hydropiper. Def. not glosso.

CPDzeke 03-08-2013 12:46 AM

No, elatine hydropiper is even smaller than HC.

No, that's about the right size for Elatine hydropiper.

Knicolas 03-08-2013 01:30 AM

I'll take a picture when I get home in a couple hours. As of now, it has four leaves and is growing vertically.

GMYukonon24s 03-08-2013 02:13 AM

It does look like Elatine hydropiper.

Knicolas 03-08-2013 03:31 AM

Here it is 5 days later

about 1-2cm tall

Looks mysteriously like Sphaerocaryum malaccense... but still too hard to tell at this point.

jkan0228 03-08-2013 03:40 AM

Almost all stem plants look like that when it's that small and emersed. I'd let it grow out for a few days or a week or two and it'll be a lot easier to ID
