How's this basic hardscape??
2 Attachment(s)
This is a very preliminary hardscape of my newly started 90 gallon (48" L X 18" W X 24" H)...I will be adding a black? or blue? background, and I have a basic idea of around 200 individual plants to start (only 4 species)!
It will be a low light, low tech setup - no Co2, 4 x fluorescent 32W 6500K GE daylight bulbs mounted in white reflective shoplights. Plants I have in mind are Corkscrew Val, Giant Val, Java Fern, and Bacopa (sp.) Back to the hardscape! This is a trial run. Whad'ya think? Appreciate everyone's opinions. |
IMO - i think you should raise the soil in the back more to give it more depth. and instead of placing 2 pieces of wood side by side, have them intertwined into the middle, with the plants coming out from the middle.

Hardscape - Less is better.
I think with those pieces I would use the larger one on right group with the ones on the left and arrange them vertically to create a stump. In the position area the left group is now. Maybe one of the smaller pc. set like a root coming from the stump.? |
Thank you chou, thank you DogFish.
Hmmm...so, you are both basically saying to make one larger piece instead of two? Ok, will try that. I will be adding more substrate soon too. Thanks again for the help! |
