55g attempt at scaping

I will try to update this as much as possible, even if with just pictures. I have gained some experience with growing plants so I am moving on to trying to grow those plants in an attractive manner.

I am sure you will see me posting questions all over these forums :help:

Today I finally got the black backing I needed so I could finally move the tank up against the wall where it would stay. I also got a new piece of DW to add to one I had already. I threw the pieces in and started messing around, when I thought I was done I came here and made a thread in the scaping section ( http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=238546 ) to find I was far from done, and thankfully so.

I went from this:

With the opinions and ideas from the people of this wonderful site.

Sacpe the substrate too, mounding it up will complete the scene. Love the DW by the way.

I plan on getting another bag of flourite to be able to do a little more sloping. The gravel is a little thin right now so I did not want to go crazy with it. :)

That's a great looking piece of driftwood to start this tank.

I love that driftwood, this makes me want to go driftwood hunting again, to find something more suiting for my 55 gallon!

Decided to flood it last night before buying the new gravel just to see what it looks like, I hooked up the filter and heater as well. I bought some flourite today and I am currently draining and adding it now. More pics tonight.

First the "in construction" pictures or me adding gravel and doing some water changes to get rid of the residual flourite powder:

Now for the good part. I sloped the gravel horizontally and tweaked the wood a little, these are the results and most likely my final hardscape.

Added crypts, riccia, and java moss today!

That's some nice looking driftwood. I need to upgrade what I have in my tank.

Rigged up my net so that it is right in front of my circulation pump that has been blasting loose riccia across the tank :icon_cool
