LFS Livestock Watch Thread

When visiting a Local Fish Shop (LFS), consider posting exotic stock finds or deals which may interest our community members.

Try your best to include the Shop (location), species, price and quantity.

WTB: feel free to post items you are currently shopping for so others can look for you.

We already have a similar thread going, the New York City LFS update. Another one would just be redundant.

Yes and no. I kind of like the idea of a "Looking for/WTB Thread" as opposed to the general "this is what so and so has", even though it is somehwat covered in the LFS Thread. this give people a specific idea of what people are looking for.

FYI the last place I saw one was Petco up on 86th. I wanted to buy it but wasn't going home anytime soon.

We should somehow convince these LFS to cut us a comission....I feel like we advertise for them bigtime!

True, but it is already saving us some gas money and time. Plus the stores that stock some hard to find stuff deserve little advertisement. We wanna make sure they stay in business.

woot and that was my 400 post , for a quiet guy like me that's an achievement, lol.

When did you see this? I went there last week but didn't see anything special. Thanks!

ryu1 02-01-2013 06:46 PM

Pacific had them I guess 3 weeks ago when I went to get a few more ember tetra, but the tank was marked reserved. You might want to call them and see if they will get anymore in.

Fuze 02-01-2013 07:04 PM

Yes I saw one left and asked when they would be getting more. Supposedly last week, but that didn't happen so maybe I will check next week..I just hope I might be able to find them at a different location as well.

TBH, im trying to do more than simply rehashing the same old stuff and we should all take the opportunity to do better.

This WTB aspect alone is worthy of some format as a community is about looking out for one another.

Regarding that original LFS thread, I think we can put that thread to bed. the thread owner hasnt been logged in for ages and has likely moved on from the hobby and this site.

The forum is merely a vehicle for communication. If there is no value in contributing to a thread, it eventually dies then i can find more productive ways to use my time :)

I have seen hatchets often in petsmart on broadway when I was working in soho. Call them as well if you can't wait. :)

Well said Albert. And I agree. Sometimes a little re-wording or a slight change to the contents can result in a total rehash of a thread. I like the idea of of the WTB. And also throwing in just the idea of including prices and quantity will result in everyone being a little more observing when at the LFS. Quantity alone helps because this kind of gives someone a timeframe as to whether or not they should head out to the store.

I like it!!

Saw those and silver hatchets in Fishtown USA, Queens last weekend. Tank full of them. Sorry didn't check the price but they looked nice.
