New CO2 Diffuser

Check It Out ,
Inexpensive to build and working great. In full force it gave me 35ppm of CO2 in my 30 gallon tank

Now after adjusting Im consistantly in the 20 - 25 ppm range

I love projects !

Thats an interesting design.... I'm getting visions of a version I may try in my hex tank. Hmmmmm........ it needs to be put in line with a forceful water supply, lets see now... :bounce:  :hehe:

allready done...
I took out the plug and ran tubing to the intake on my powerhead.
I put tubing into the hole that you can use for air injection. It pulls water constantly through the diffuser and works aweome !
25ppm in my 30 gallon... plants are growin like weeds and my fish are healthier then ever.
And mind you this tank is WAY overstocked by conventional terms. I have not been over 1ppm on ammonia(tested daily)
I had all these fish in a 56 gallon that I had to break down and move for carpeting...

Here is a photo of diffuser in tank... line out the right goes to powerhead

Thats great, but the way you have it now... you are in effect routing your CO2 thru the powerhead and into the water. The "difusser" has in effect become inoperable. To be using the difusser you would be "pushing" the water thru the difusser, not "sucking" the water/CO2 thru and into the powerhead. Either way you seem to be accomplishing the objective. :bounce:  :hehe:

I have run it both ways...plugged and through powerhead.
When it was plugged it did well without water flow through tube... PH with plug drops to 6.8 from 7.1 baseline...
When I put it through powerhead my PH now goes to 6.6 and pretty much maintains. :D
If you look closely you can see the CO2 "pocket " in the tube just above the outlet to powerhead... the angle of the stack head will not allow it to fill more... it will release a 1 large bubble out and stay at that level. Not all powerheads have that air intake option though Ive noticed.
This also doubles as a great bubble counter... very visible.

So far so good though... before this the ole bowl method only got me to 6.9... I guess its the square inches of CO2 in contact with water thats helping out...
