First and foremost... I like to say Hello to all I'm brand new to this forum tho I singed up a year ago and it's my first thread. I'm a member with SD and I hear a lot from different members regarding this forum. I like to start with help from u I have a 125gl 2 AC110 2 jäger heaters 300watts each my substrate is sand...with 6 Discus all around 5" , 4 clown loaches, 2 gouramis and Plants 3 small Amazon swords I like to have a few more something nice to look at I read that having a flourite as a substrate will help in the growth of plants and Co2 but I want to stay away from Co2,now can I split my substrate where I have my sand upfront and flourite in the back??? I realy want nice plants but need ur insight.
Flourite is pretty inert but has high CEC, basically it can store nutrients well. AS long as you are running low light, CO2 will not be necessary.
Define "nice"..., maybe even structure your post a bit so we can easily address your individual questions, and honestly, its your tank, do whatever you want.
