No. Looks more like a slate variant.

seriyu rocks are hard to come by as supposedly there is a ban still on going.
there is a rock called ryuuoh stone which is similiar looking to sieryu rocks. Most often they are both mislabeled. |
Where do you NYCers go for your rocks?
|
These rocks were sold to me as Seriyu a few years ago (not sure if they really are) but they look different then your stone.

Seriyu rock is a fancy name, this kind of rock has been wildly used in most of Chinese Gardens for decades, 青龙石 is their Chinese name. this picture might be taken from a florist shop in Chinatown. yes this is Seriyu rock.

Since i can't link other links.
supposedly it is illegal to harvest seriyu stone directly from japan since year 2008. other rocks may be or may look like seriyu stone that is why i posted that it may be ryuoh stone. If you google about seriyu stone you will find a bunch of forums suggesting the same idea. I am no expert... i am just offering my +1. I would hate to see another member to purchase something that possibly be mis-labeled and mis-represented. |
Yes, why they ban that stone?
Rock is rock, not like weed for smoke |
