20T t5 HO lighting
Hey guys. I currently have a 20 gallon tall tank. I have a bunch of low light plants and a t5 HO light. I feel as if my plants are getting too much light. The unit allows for two bulbs but i am currently only using one t5 24w 6000K bulb. Any advice for lighting a low tech 20T will a t% ho would be great. thanks:fish::fish::fish:

Raise the light up.

I'm using a T5HO dual fixture on a 20g using the brackets it came with, sitting on a glass hood four inches above the water. To get to low light I only use one bulb at a time with two layers of grey fiberglass window screen placed inside the splash guard.

I use a timer set to 10.5 hours, using a 5000k when I remember to turn it on before work, and switch to a 6500k when I get home. Each bulb has a switch, but the 5000k is a bit red for viewing. I would think your bulb would be fine. I'm thinking of reducing light to 10 hours, that might be a perfect balance, at least for me and my stock level. I'm also adding API CO2 Booster as directed and API Leaf Zone once a week.

Hey i dose 10 ml of API leaf zone weekly as well. as for my timer i only have my lights on for 8 hours should i crank it up to a ten hour cycle? I could always give it a shot i guess

I can't answer that one, maybe somebody else can. I got some algae when I was running 12 hours a day, so I've been slowly cutting back. I doesn't seem to be getting worse at 10.5 hours now anyway.
