Some what new to the hobby and want to set up a shrimp tank.
 

Hello I am sorta new to the hobby and i want to set up a shrimp tank. I have a 10gal tank set up not with 4-Tiger barbs and java moss in it...this was my first tank it was deff a dumb buy at first because had no clue what i was doing (I deff did not start off with 4-tiger barbs :icon_cry:) but I have learned little since then but i am still 100% new. So my question is what would a new guy like me need to get started keeping shrimp with some low maintenance plants.

Right now I have a empty 10gal I want to use along with a hood and light.
What kind of stuff would I need. Like I said I pretty much a 100% new and I would like to start learning the "right way" by asking other people what to do.

Your barbs will have to go if you want to keep shrimp as well. Shrimp will be quick snacks for those feisty fellers :).

You will definately want to start with Neo type shrimp which are like the red cherry shrimp. You will need to do some reading but they are pretty easy.

Ok well is is the best reading at i know this forum is pretty good but is there any place else to read up on?

Ok I will thanks I might be able to get started a lil sooner the I thought :( I just had my 4 barbs die with in 24hrs im a lil upset I had them for lil over a year.
