WTB Blue velvets
 

Hello all! I was curious if anyone local would be willing to sell me 15-20 of these guys?
It's super cold now so I would prefer to pick them up.

What's a blue velvet?

It's a shrimp. Check out one of Speedie's threads.....he has some pics. They are super nice.:cool:

oh. Those are pretty. Though they also look like they're full of windex.

Windex......nice! I'm also fan of the yellow, orange and green guys. Some say if they are mixed they will revert to the wild color....brownish. But, there is an lfs near me that has kept all these together an they are still breeding colors.

And here I thought, nice I got some replies.... yea they look pretty cool, and since they are neos, easy to keep!

I know you are in NY, but Fishtown USA in Ramsey, NJ has all different types. Not sure if they are true blue velvets or not, but I did see blues in his tank. I think they were $5.99 each, 3 for $15 or something like that.

I picked up 11 from Fishtown USA in ramsey on our last tour. they were $3 each for us. The blues varied from windex to a rich deep blue. Very nice indeed and local

Aaaahhhh yes. I forgot he hooked you guys up with a discount. He may do the same for anyone who mentions the website to him. Just ask for Evan, he is the owner. He has a bunch of different mosses as well. Great prices and portions. And marimo moss balls for $1.50!!!!

How far (time frame from say, Queens) would the fishtown usa in jersey be?
If its under an hour I might have to go.
I managed to see a few at the pet warehouse on LI, I only grabbed one because they wanted $15 each, and the only reason I bothered was because it was a berried female (who's eggs have now hatched, so I have at least a couple assuming my filter didn't nab any babies up (I'm ordering a filter guard as we speak lol)

It's about 20 minutes from the GWB. I recommend going on a Sunday. Blue laws are in effect on Sunday, so you won't get killed with traffic. Saturday traffic in that area can easily turn that 20 minutes into 45.

Definitely worth it. AND, you can hit up several of the other stores as they are all basically in a line and relatively close to one another.

IME, the ones sold at fistown were richly blue under some normal aquarium lamps and werent "clearish" as some of our local members who picked up blue velvets have commented. They also have some very nice quality orange, yellows and cardinals that are quite a sight to watch!

Wow they have shrimps stock all times? Man why couldnt it be the Fishtown in Queens!
