tall background plants...
Hi all -
Anyone in the Denver area have some plants that would do well in lowtech/lowlight, and get tall enough for the background (20 inches)? I have some misc. to trade, and will consider just about anything!! - Dave |
how well do you do with rotala species? I have Rotala 'green' that might do ok for you, they are not that wide about 1" per stem, but they branch very good.
I of course have sunset hygro and Ludwigia repens that might do ok for you. |
I have a few jungle val that aren't doing very well for me. I'm not sure how they do in lower light, though.

I have L. Aromatica. It grows tall and if fairly wide. I keep this in my med-high light tanks. I am guessing though that it will do well for you in lower light. Just so you are aware *I have BBA in these tanks* - Too much light I think. :confused1:
I am looking for crypts or buces (nothing specific). Let me know what you think. -Zach |
The rotalas did well, and I had L Aromatica going for a while. But I've reverted totally to low-tech, low-light, no-ferts, infrequent water changes so I need something pretty hearty.
I like the sunset hygro. I wonder how it would do with my tank lighting. |
I have Asian ambulia. It's a very low tech plant. It reaches the top of my hex tank quite frequently.
