Grass?
 

I just planted my tank a week ago and all of the plants seem to be thriving at the moment. My question is, I want the entire bottom to be green like grass in a lawn. Is there a way to get seeds to sprinkle to create the 'grass look' or will I have to plant it sprig by sprig? I'm sorry if this has been discussed. I'm new. :P

dwarf hairgrass or pygmy chain sword is what you're looking for, but they grow via runners, so you'll have to plant them in small bunches. No seeds unfortunately.

You can find some of the hairgrasses for sale in seed form sold as spike rush or rush. Rare, but it exists..

Do they grow and take over a tank quickly? I'm willing to keep it groomed, but I'm really hoping for a fully green tank, even if it tries to take over.

My DHG grew super fast when my pressurized CO2 was hooked up (it's empty at the moment and I don't have the time to get it filled). When I planted it in bunches, all of them were sending out runners within a week.

I've seen those seeds. They are like brown seed thingy where a green grass sprouts. It's very abundant in our country. It was usually seen in the emersed form of hairgrass. It takes a whileee when you plant those seeds. Mine takes a month in a 2.5wpg to grow from seed to full fledged hairgrass. But it's very interesting to see it grow. :P

from my own tanks dwarf sag is really good and fills in well i have never had dwarf/pygmy chain sword fill in like grass

Thank you, everyone. I'm excited to start looking for the plants you all named. I like what I have so far, but I really want some 'fillers' for the bottom.
