Can you pour in CO2?
I don't like the look of a DIY CO2 by my tank, so I wanted to run the CO2 into an open top gallon jug in my garage (half filled with water) and add a tiny bit into my tank every couple of days. I could buy a CO2 test kit if that would help.

In other words add water with CO2 in my main tank.

Would this work or would the CO2 simply dissipate from the jug and a waste of time?

No it wouldn't work.

The co2 that is released into your tank theoretically is spread across the entire volume of water.

Thus, you wouldn't be able to get all the co2 into your tank by adding a little bit of co2 enriched water. You would also degas co2 as you added the water into your tank.

Just ad the co2 directly into your aquarium.

I see. Thanks I thought it was to easy for it to work , lol.

I will just forgo the CO2 for now as can not stand the look of the DIY . The tank is fairly new and only have Vals which are growing but slow , they did take off with Co2 but will skip the CO2 for now.

Thanks again
